The client required a modern standby power solution capable of improving resilience across the wider estate while reducing operational complexity and long-term maintenance costs.

Veridis designed and delivered a complete turnkey critical power solution, integrating standby generation, UPS infrastructure, automatic transfer systems and intelligent controls into a single coordinated platform.

Centralised 500kVA Standby Generation

A new 500kVA biodiesel-powered generator replaced three independent generators, creating a centralised standby power source capable of supporting multiple buildings while improving operational efficiency and reducing maintenance requirements.

Expanded Emergency Power Coverage

The upgraded infrastructure increased standby power protection from two buildings to four, significantly improving business continuity across the wider estate.

Automatic Transfer & Power Distribution

Automatic Transfer Switches were installed at each connection point, enabling rapid transfer between utility and standby supplies during mains power failures. This helps critical systems remain operational with minimal interruption.

UPS Infrastructure Upgrade

The existing UPS installation was modernised to provide enhanced resilience and increased system capacity, supporting two integrated UPS systems within the overall standby power architecture.

Intelligent BMS Integration

The generator, UPS systems and ATS panels were integrated into the site’s existing Building Management System, giving facilities teams centralised monitoring, real-time alarm notifications, remote visibility and improved fault diagnostics.

Extended Fuel Autonomy

Additional fuel storage capacity was incorporated into the design, increasing generator runtime and helping critical operations continue during prolonged utility outages.
