Project overview
Engineering-led delivery, clearly documented
As part of the client's long-term decarbonisation programme, Veridis designed and delivered a 135kWp rooftop solar PV system that transforms unused roof space into a valuable renewable energy asset. The installation provides clean electricity directly to the facility, reducing reliance on imported grid power while improving energy resilience and supporting the organisation's environmental objectives.

The Brief
What the project needed to achieve
The client required a renewable energy solution that would:
- Reduce carbon emissions across the site.
- Lower long-term electricity costs.
- Improve overall energy efficiency.
- Maximise the available roof space.
- Integrate safely with the existing low-voltage electrical infrastructure.
- Provide a scalable platform for future energy technologies.
The project demanded careful engineering to ensure the new generation system could operate safely alongside the existing electrical installation while meeting all applicable industry standards and network requirements.
Engineering Challenge
The constraints behind the solution
Installing renewable generation onto an existing commercial building presents a number of technical challenges beyond simply mounting solar panels.
The available roof space was spread across multiple roof levels, requiring a carefully planned array layout to maximise generation while maintaining safe access routes for inspection and maintenance.
From an electrical perspective, the renewable generation system needed to be fully coordinated with the existing low-voltage distribution network, ensuring reliable operation without affecting the building’s normal electrical loads.
The design also needed to incorporate appropriate protection, isolation and monitoring systems, allowing the installation to operate safely throughout its lifecycle.
Our Solution
Specialist engineering from design to delivery
Veridis developed and delivered a complete turnkey engineering solution covering design, installation, commissioning and final integration.
High-Efficiency Solar PV Array
A 135kWp roof-mounted solar PV system was installed across multiple roof elevations, maximising available space while optimising annual energy production.
Advanced Inverter Architecture
Multiple string inverters were strategically deployed to improve system efficiency, increase operational resilience and provide comprehensive monitoring of system performance.
Dedicated Solar Switchgear
New AC and DC switchgear, protection equipment and isolation devices were installed to provide safe operation and maintenance while ensuring full compliance with current electrical standards.
LV Infrastructure Integration
The renewable generation system was integrated into the site’s existing low-voltage distribution network through a dedicated connection arrangement, allowing renewable energy to be utilised on-site without impacting normal business operations.
